Shadow & Bone Netflix Teaser

I’m admittedly a little late to the Grisha verse as I only just started reading these books this year, but I am so excited for the show to release! This was one of the reasons I started reading these books because I knew they were going to be good. I’d heard people talk about these books hundreds of times before, and I had been putting off starting these books for some reason. I’m not sure why, but I am finally starting to read these books. I’m currently reading Six of Crows, and I do admit, it feels a lot slower than the previous books, but it’s finally starting to pick up a little bit!

From the reading I’ve done on this show, I know that it’s primarily the Shadow & Bone books with a new backstory for Kaz and the gang. I’m super excited about the backstory portion since they sort of want to intertwine these two stories together. I’m super intrigued by it and I can’t wait to see how everything ties together from there.

This teaser obviously didn’t give us much, but it gave us something. It gave us the whimsical feeling that this book is meant to instill upon us, and the glowing light with the girl….the stag. I loved it! And then we had Ben Barnes telling us, “You and I are going to change the world.” I honestly felt like I was stepping into an episode of Westworld for those few seconds, and I am obsessed. I cannot wait to binge this show and see what changes they make and how they further improve the story. From what I have seen, I do believe Leigh Bardugo worked pretty close on this project, but I’m not 100% sure of what her role was.

I cannot wait to see the full trailer, and see what we’re expected to expect in the show!

I am still a little annoyed about Nina not being fat as the books described her. As someone who would share the same body image as her, I was pretty disappointed in this casting. There are so many actors who are fat who would’ve been great for this role, and she is not who I pictured. While I support the show, I feel the need to disclaim that this was one choice I am not fond of.
